What will I learn?

 

​The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) is a nationally accredited, Ofqual regulated teaching qualification. It is designed to give people the knowledge and skills to teach in the post-16 education sector. This qualification can be used to deliver training in the private training industry as well as schools and colleges in the Further Education sector.

​Topics covered in the Level 3 Award in Education and Training course:

 

​​​​Understand the teaching role and responsibilities in education and training
Understand ways to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
Understand the relationships between teachers and other professionals in education and training
Understand the types and methods of assessment used in education and training
Understand how to use constructive feedback, keep records, and involve learners and others in the assessment process
Understand quality assurance and the legal and good practice requirements in relation to assessment.

Course Content:

 

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training course is made up of 3 units  

​​

Unit 1: Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training 

Unit 2: Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training 

Unit 3: Understanding the principles and practices of assessment 

 

Pre-requisites

 

​The practical elements of this course are essential, as they provide you with vital hands-on experience. You must be physically able to take part in the practical parts of the course.

​

​Assessment and Certification

 

Assessment
There are both theoretical and practical assessments:

​Theory – a written assessment for each of the three units.

A dedicated submissions team is on hand to provide guidance and detailed feedback on draft submissions and support through the assessment process.

​Practical – plan, prepare, and deliver a 15-minute micro-teach (mini-lesson) on a subject of your choice. This allows you to put your new skills and knowledge into practice. You will also assess three of your peers.

Our 3 day classroom course can be delivered in-house at your workplace on dates of your choice or attend one of our Open courses in Central London.

Self-paced Elearning


This flexible format allows learners to complete the course at their own pace,  around their own schedule.
Once learners have completed the theory and written assessments, they can book a virtual video webinar to complete their practical micro-teach assessment or we can come and assess you in your workplace.

 

Duration
You have 90 days in which to complete the theory and practical assessments

 

Certificate
You will receive your Ofqual accredited certificate from YMCA Awards within 2 working weeks after the successful completion of your theory & practical assignments.
