First Aid for Schools - Staff
Running a whole school inset day first aid training course is a great team building day. Your staff learn or refresh their first aid skills which is always a great confidence boost. With allergies on the increase and as many children have now been prescribed adrenaline auto-injectors this course also covers the required content for staff to be trained to deliver these injections when necessary.

4.5 hrs - Adult and Child Emergency Life Support:
Incident Management – a systematic approach to managing first aid incidents and assessing casualties using a primary survey
Safe Airway Position
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and safe use of an AED
Child / Drowning CPR
Choking
Bleeding & Shock

Pre-requisites
​
​The practical elements of this course are essential as they provide you with vital hands-on experience. You must be physically able to take part in the practical parts of the course. You are required to attend the full duration of the course and candidates need a basic command of English ( defined as Level 2 ) to be eligible for evaluation and qualify for a Child Care First Aid certificate.

​Assessment and Certification
You will be continually assessed throughout the course by one of our qualified trainers.
Upon successful completion, you will receive a Child Care First Aid certificate valid for three years.

On-site training room requirements
​It is recommended that the room size should be approximately 20 x 30 feet for a full 12-person course. The room should be large enough to seat all candidates comfortably in a semicircle formation. The floor space in the centre should be clean and uncluttered, as this will be used for the practical parts of the course. The trainer will also require a flip chart, if one is available.
